Due to my genes, my hair is graying in a large patch near my face. One of my friends started calling me Rogue. It's cute but sometimes the grays get to me. So I have been coloring my hair. It is no longer for pleasure but to hide my secret! Mind you, I only color the front of my hair but feels like a chore.
I decided to look for an alternative to hair dye. For the past month or so, I have been experimenting with coffee. (Thanks, Sister!) There are different recipes of coloring grays. Sage is suppose to be good but coffee seemed a much easier choice. I decided to go with this recipe without the henna. (Seemed like a lot of trouble finding the right henna.)
When I started, I would clean my hair with the apple vinegar and then put the coffee in my hair with a sponge. I would let it dry and then wash my hair. I really can't say I noticed much change. I did it twice a week. Then two weeks ago, it did appear that my grays were darkening up. The ends which have been dyed in the past seem to be soaking up the color.
Last night, I forwent the apple vinegar and just brushed in the coffee with a hair color brush, waited for it to dry and then rinsed it out. This morning, it looks a little darker than last week.
I can't say if the "virgin" grays will get darker but I can only hope. Maybe I will know something in another four weeks.
If you could be an expert in any one field, which one would you choose?
My life!
How are you spending Valentine's Day?
I don't hate Valentine's Day, but I really don't celebrate it. Dan and I don't get each other gifts. Of course if there's something we've had our eye on, well that's different. We do go out to dinner, but not on the actual day. After years of working in the restaurant business, going out to eat on that day is a nightmare. Unfortunately, it seems the people that are out are those who don't go out to dinner unless it's a special occasion and they're a nightmare. Besides, food takes too long to come out. I would beat Dan down if he showed up with roses. The prices are so hiked up that if he would spend that much money on something that's already dead, I would be highly disappointed. The reason I'm not crazy about this holiday is because it forces you to be romantic when this should be an ongoing occurrence. I shouldn't have to wait until February to celebrate my marriage.
So tonight, Dan is actually bartending and my sister and the kids are coming over. Tomorrow morning, Dan, Will, and I are going out brunch. That's it!
This once was going to be a blog about me and my thoughts. Then it morphed into a blog about me w/ a baby. When I write morphed, I mean posting sporadic photos of the kid. Now 3 week into the new job, there is no time to blog. I have a lot to say, but no time to say it, let alone write it. Speaking of...I barely have enough time to think it. Ahh the magic of bullet points.
- Hillary out, Obama in.
- Ok Hillary, really get out. Obama, put her down already.
- New job going OK. Rough few days, but getting into the swing.
- Commute to work OK as well. Getting to Journal Square is a bitch; stupid ass van drivers.
- Getting home not so good. I'm regularly getting home around 7:30PM; NOT GOOD!
- Seeing the baby grow up, very awesome.
- Recent Movies - Iron Man A, 3:10 to Yuma A, Michael Clayton B+ (lousy way to assassinate someone)
- TV - The good:Supernatural, Eli Stone, & Reaper. The bad: I'm 2 weeks behind on Lost.
- Books - Gotta finish I Am Legend. I think I'll start reading Atlas Shrugged.
I usually post at my other blog, but I'm at work and don't have access to blogger. I wanted to get this picture out there. On Saturday, the three of us decided to go to Van Saun County Park. This is officially the first time Will is in a park. I know he looks serious, but he had a lot of fun. We swung him a bit and he kept on laughing. It was soooooo cute watching him look around at the other kids. We even put him on a slide. Of course we took tons of pictures. This one is from my camera phone. As soon as we load them up, I'll post some more. My little guy is growing so fast! He's already saying "da-da." Dan is so excited about that. Anyway, I have to go. Enjoy the pic!
It was a long time in the making, but it finally happened. One of my official goals for turning 30 was to find a new job. Last Friday my wish came true and now I'm officially employed by Alloy Media + Marketing. More specifically I'll be working for Channel One, which is owned by Alloy. I'll be working as a Traffic Coordinator, which means I'll be managing the commercial blocks during the Channel One news broadcast. This is a great opportunity and I'm really excited. I gave my two weeks notice at VMS on Friday, so I begin my new career on April 21st. Wish me luck!!!
My boy finally did it. At 9:11AM today, he rolled over unassisted for the first time! I was with him on the bed while Xia was expressing milk in the other room. When it happened I yelled out, 'He did it!". Hope the neighbors weren't sleeping. It was an uncontrolled expression of happiness that instantly came over me. I'm very happy right now.
